W pałacu mieszkała bardzo wysoko postawiona rodzina, której głową był Pan Simon Tinz. Miał on żonę panią Laurę Tinz i dwoje dzieci – Mandy Tinz i Severusa Tinz. Pan Simon i pani Laura mieli wiele zajęć. Często zdarzało się, że na długo wyjeżdżali w sprawach zawodowych.
Pan Simon był starszym, ale przystojnym i eleganckim mężczyzną. Pani Laura była młodą i piękną kobietą. Ubierała się w długą, obcisłą, czerwoną sukienkę z chińskiego jedwabiu z dużym rozporkiem na dole, który odsłaniał jej zgrabną nogę. Na nogach miała czarne baletki. Czesała się w koka tak jak wszystkie panie w Chinach i wbijała w niego czarne pałeczki. Laura Tinz była dosyć blada, miała czarne włosy i mocno się malowała.

Mr Simon was an elderly but very handsome and elegant man. Mrs Laura was a young and beautiful woman. She wore a long, tight, red, Chinese silk dress with a big slit on the bottom, which uncovered her shapely leg. She wore black ballerinas on her feet. She wore her hair in a bun, like all women in China did, and put some black sticks into it. Laura Tinz was quite pale, she had black hair and wore a vivid make-up.
